The Devil Wears Prada stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt reunited 18 years after the film's release and touched fans
The stars of the cult film The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, reunited on February 24 at the SAG Awards 2024 to present the award for acting in a comedy series. The movie featuring the already legendary trio was released in 2006, 18 years ago.
Streep, 74, took the stage and accidentally crashed into the microphone before being joined by Hathaway and Blunt. Judging by the video on Netflix's official YouTube channel, the audience was delighted with the surprise.
"Two things: I forgot my glasses, obviously, and an envelope," the actress said before the other two stars came out to bring them. "It's an age-old question – where does the character end and the actor begin?" continued Meryl. Emily Blunt replied: "As we've just seen, Meryl and her character from The Devil Wears Prada, Miranda Priestley, look like twins, don't they?" "No, no, that wasn't a question," Hathaway added in response.
The fact is that according to the movie, Miranda Priestley is a bitchy editor-in-chief of a fashion publication who does not spare anyone. In particular, her assistants, played by Blunt and Hathaway. Since the release of the comedy-drama, the actresses like to mention The Devil Wears Prada at various ceremonies. This year's SAG Awards was no exception.
It was the 2006 film that earned Meryl Streep a nomination for that year's Screen Actors Guild Awards and an Oscar nomination for her role as Miranda.
