The actress of "Kvartal 95", who got to "Myrotvorets" after the issue about Skadovsk, explained her trips to the occupied Crimea: everything was legal

Iryna Gatun explained her trips to the occupied Crimea

The Ukrainian comedian Iryna Gatun got into a high-profile scandal in early 2024 because of the Kvartal 95 studio's skit about the "Siskadovskaya" girl. Eventually, Ukrainians found out that the comedienne had another skeleton in her closet - she had repeatedly traveled to Crimea after its occupation by Russia. However, in a recent interview, the artist herself assured that she sees nothing wrong with her vacation, as she traveled to the annexed peninsula allegedly legally.

Gatun's comments on this topic were published on the website "Korotko pro". In a conversation with journalists, the star noted that she does not understand why some compatriots "oppress" her.

Thus, after the scandal with the number where the residents of Skadovsk were "jokingly" humiliated, the network users found out that Gatun visited Crimea in 2015, 2018, and 2019. The actress assured that she went to visit a close friend who has pro-Ukrainian views but cannot leave the occupation for certain reasons.

"I went there to support a close friend who supports Ukraine, but due to certain circumstances is forced to live in the territory temporarily occupied by Russia. My friend had just given birth to a child, and she took the situation with the annexation very painfully. As a result, her health deteriorated. Now she has two children and cannot leave with them, she constantly says she is sick there, so she asked me to come and help," Gatun said.

Komikesa assures that she did not violate Ukrainian law during her trip, so she does not understand the claims made by some Ukrainians.

"I entered and left the territory of the temporarily occupied peninsula with a Ukrainian passport through the territory of Ukraine - through the official entry-exit checkpoint Kalanchak. It turns out that now people are oppressing me, a Ukrainian, for traveling from the Ukrainian side with a Ukrainian internal passport to our Ukrainian Crimea," Gatun commented.

It should be noted that after the Skadovsk scandal and her trips to Crimea, the actress was included in the Myrotvorets database, which investigates signs of crimes against Ukraine's national security, peace, human security, and international law. Her name appears there under the following reasoning: "Participation in attempts to legalize the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by Russia (the aggressor country and terrorist). Public abuse of Ukrainian citizens in the territories occupied by the Russian fascist invaders."
