Russian band DDT releases a powerful anti-war song "Novosti". Video

The Russian rock band DDT, whose members openly oppose Putin's regime and the war in Ukraine, has released a new anti-war song. The song, titled "Novosti" (News), mocks the propaganda nonsense that people in the terrorist country are fed to support the Kremlin and its leader.

The musicians posted the video for the song on their YouTube channel. In it, the band's leader, Yuri Shevchuk, appears as a tired Santa Claus who sits down to watch TV, and there is "news, tiktokers' tales, the pleasure of totalitarian eroticism, victory marches of surrendered rockers, and most importantly, cats, cats, cats!"

In the video, the band's musicians appeared in front of the audience in somewhat frightening life-size animal costumes. Shevchuk seems to be looking at them through the TV screen. The life-size puppets eventually start fighting with each other, and finally there is an explosion.

In the song, Shevchuk also sings, "But war is a place where everything accelerates in anticipation of a new harsh confession. War is a consequence, the world does not shy away from charismatic impulses of aggression."

For this, Shevchuk was found guilty of "discrediting" the Russian army, about which the singer himself did not say a word. In addition, the artist was forced to pay a 50 thousand ruble fine.
