No crown, but with flags: the monarchs rocked out at the post-coronation concert, featuring Katy Perry and other stars. Photo.
The second day of celebrations in honour of Charles III's official coronation ended with a pompous concert featuring Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and other stars. The son of the ruler, the Duke of Wales, William, also took the floor and addressed his father in a touching speech.
The monarchs left their crowns and took up the flags of the United Kingdom. OBOZREVATEL decided to tell you how the concert went (to see photos and videos, scroll to the bottom of the page).
The Dukes of Wales, Kate Middleton and William, with their eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, sat in the best seats next to the King and Queen. Everyone was dressed less formally than during the coronation. They were accompanied by Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Prince Andrew and other members of the royal family.
The monarchs waved small flags along with the rest of the audience. They watched the performance standing up.
The British audience was treated to performances by Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams, Lionel Richie and others. Prince William also took to the stage to deliver a moving speech on the occasion of the coronation of Charles III and Camilla.
"My father's first words as he entered Westminster Abbey yesterday were a promise of service. My father always understood that people of all faiths, all backgrounds and all communities deserve to be recognised and supported. Dad, we are all so proud of you," said the eldest son.
He also did not forget to mention his late grandmother Elizabeth II, stressing that she was watching and proud of her son, the new king.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that one person at the coronation ceremony puzzled the network. Viewers watching the event via an online broadcast noticed a strange man in a long black hooded cloak with a cane in his hands.
