Princess Kate Middleton of England has given encouraging news that she will return to her royal duties as the cancer she has been battling for a year has gone into remission. She announced on the heels of her trip to a hospital in London, where she was undergoing chemotherapy.
However, the princess is still undergoing further treatment, but not as intense as before. She announced the news on her Instagram.
"I am relieved to be in remission now and I continue to focus on getting better. Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer knows that it takes time to adjust to a new life. However, I am looking forward to the next year, which will be a busy one. There is a lot to look forward to," the princess said.
She also announced that she has become a patron of the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. From now on, the princess will also take care of people fighting cancer.
"We could not have asked for more. The care and advice we received throughout my time as a patient was exceptional. In my new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden Hospital, I hope that by supporting pioneering research and clinical excellence, and promoting the wellbeing of patients and their families, we can save many more lives and transform the experience of everyone affected by cancer," added Kate Middleton.
