Jim Carrey announces his retirement from acting

Actor Jim Carrey

Hollywood star, Canadian and American comedian Jim Carrey has announced that he is ending his acting career and retiring, but noted that he is ready to participate in new projects if it is important to people. It is worth noting that the celebrity has been in movies for almost 40 years.

He made the statement in an interview with Access Hollywood. Jim Carrey admitted that he is satisfied with a quiet life (to watch the video, scroll to the end).

In an interview, TV presenter Kit Kuvir told Carrey that singer Dolly Parton wants him to play her musical partner in a future biopic about her life. To which the Hollywood star replied: "That's great. But I'm retiring."

"I'm saying this quite seriously. Unless, of course, the angels suddenly bring me some script written in golden ink, and I realize that it is very important for people to see it, then maybe I will come back," Jim Carrey said.

He admitted that he enjoys a quiet, spiritual life, painting on canvas and so on.

"This is something you may never hear from another celebrity as long as there is time - I'm done. I've done enough. I'm done," the actor said.

It should be reminded that Carrey started his career as a stand-up comedian. He first appeared in a movie in 1983, and gained popularity after the release of the movie "Ace Ventura: Searching for Pets".

Among the popular films in which Jim Carrey played are "The Mask", "Dumb and Dumber", "Batman Forever", "Lie, Liar", "Bruce Almighty", "The Grinch" and others. He has won two Golden Globes, six nominations and a number of other prestigious film awards.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Jim Kerry expressed his support for the Ukrainian people after Russia's full-scale military invasion of Ukraine. He also called Vladimir Putin a fool.
