Georgia has set a record at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024. This country has won the most victories in the history of the show - four.
This year, Andriy Putkaradze from Batumi took home the crystal statuette. The singer's triumph broke the Junior Eurovision record and brought Georgia its fourth victory at the show. Thanks to this, the country became the most successful at the song contest. OBOZ.UA decided to recall all the representatives of Georgia who won the project.
Junior Eurovision 2008
That year, the band Bzikebi won. The participants performed the legendary song Bzz... in the "bee" language. Each Georgian word was accompanied by a "bzz" sound that imitated the buzzing of insects. The young artists also appeared as three bees. The whole performance was based on this insect.
Junior Eurovision 2011
The disco-style song Candy Music by Candy brought Georgia victory for the second time. Interestingly, one of the band members, Irina Khechanova, represented the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016
The participant Mariam Mamadashvili performed the song "Mzeo" ("Sunshine"). Since 2015, the girl has been studying vocals, dancing and acting professionally at the Broadway Method Academy after moving to the United States.
Junior Eurovision 2024
Andria Putkaradze performed the song To My Mom, which he dedicated to his mother. The track impressed all the jury members, as they made a significant contribution to his victory by awarding him 180 points.
Andrey Putkaradze was born in Batumi, Georgia. The young soloist began his musical career at the age of two. He became a member of the Children of the Sea vocal ensemble and later studied piano. In addition to winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024, his biggest achievement was winning the RANINA TV talent contest.
Georgia won, but it is not yet known where the next Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held, as the rules of the contest do not depend on the country of the winner.
It also became known that Ukraine won bronze at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 . Artem Kotenko's performance impressed foreign viewers. They "exploded" with delight on social networks.
