Early in his career, the actor suffered from an incurable skin ailment that made him look much older than his age. In addition, Kent suffered from arthritis and osteoporosis.

Despite this, he managed to star in "Game of Thrones", the thriller "Mirrors", the films "Snow White and the Huntsman", "Sunny Boy", "Shameless" and "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves".
