For the first time, Olena Shoptenko spoke about the accident that forced her to use crutches: I couldn't foresee it

Ukrainian choreographer Olena Shoptenko has revealed the cause of her injury, which forced her to give up her favorite pastime for a while. As it turned out, a skiing accident forced her to take a break from her 30-year career.

"It happened while I was learning to ski. A fall that I couldn't even predict because it didn't even happen on the way down," Shoptenko said on Insta-stories. She also noted that as a child, her parents forbade her to engage in extreme sports to protect her legs.

As a result of the incident, the choreographer damaged two ligaments in her knee, including cartilage and meniscus. "Then the doctor said that my body is a table without two legs," the celebrity continued, "My left leg has always been my support – in dancing, backing, pirouettes. The loss of this support was a great shock for me."

As a reminder, at the end of March 2024, Olena Shoptenko underwent surgery on her leg and was put on crutches. The dancer was forced to take a break from her career and undergo rehabilitation. At the time, she noted that this was the first serious injury in the choreographer's 36 years of life. Later, the star admitted that "the situation turned out to be a little more complicated than expected." As you know, the celebrity underwent surgery in one of the Austrian clinics.
