Famous filmmaker David Lynch addressed his fans for the first time after being diagnosed with pulmonary emphysema. The day before, it became known that the star could not leave the house because of the disease, because he did not have enough oxygen even for ordinary walks.
In a press release published online, the 78-year-old artist admitted that the cause of his illness was years of smoking. "I have to say that I really enjoyed smoking, and I really love tobacco - its smell, lighting cigarettes, smoking them. But you have to pay a price for this pleasure, and for me, that price is emphysema," Lynch said.
The director added that he quit smoking more than 2 years ago. In addition, the celebrity recently underwent a medical examination, which showed that he is in great shape. "I am full of happiness and will never retire. I want you all to know that I really appreciate your concern," he said in the post.
