"Don't speculate!": Dovbush star explains why the military should not be forced to speak Ukrainian

Hnatkovskyi explains why the military should not be shamed for their language

Ukrainian theater and film actor Oleksii Hnatkovskyi condemned civilians who criticize the military for speaking Russian. The actor advised them to change places with the soldiers to experience how difficult it is to change fundamentally in extreme conditions.

The language issue is not an issue on the front line, the Dovbush star believes, because the heroes there primarily learn how to handle weapons. He spoke about this in an interview.

Civilian, Russian-speaking Ukrainians who have consciously switched to their native language are admired by the actor. He explained that it is more difficult for them to adapt in an "aggressive" environment where everyone around them speaks the language of the enemy.

However, this step should be mandatory for everyone, Hnatkovskyi explained. Of course, when it does not come to soldiers who risk their lives for Ukraine.

"The military should do their job. Let's not speculate on the topic of the military, I've already said that. Let's not throw our own problems at them. If they are fighting at the front, they are doing fantastic things. We don't need to burden them with the language issue," Hnatkovskyi said emotionally.

The artist advised every civilian who forces soldiers to "learn the language" at the front to replace them and give the heroes the opportunity to do so without bullets over their heads and explosions nearby.
