Famous Canadian singer Celine Dion has lifted the curtain on her life behind the scenes as she fights an incurable disease that affects one person in a million. The artist spoke about the syndrome of the abused person (SPS) in the upcoming film I: Celine Dion".

In the first trailer of the film, released on May 23, Dion sits in a chair, looking at the camera and says: "I was diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder. And I didn't dare to say anything before. But now I'm ready."

Fan reaction and the singer's tears

Celine Dion's fans were left shocked after the trailer. In a touching clip, the 56-year-old music legend cried, admitting that the diagnosis affected her ability to perform, the Daily Mail reports. On X, formerly known as Twitter, many users shared their thoughts.

One of them wrote: "This video broke me to pieces. What a wonderful and strong woman." Another said: "I'm in complete shock, she doesn't deserve this," while a third person confessed: "Celine Dion made me cry, even though her documentary hasn't even been released yet."

In one of the trailer's shocking scenes, a 911 call is made against the backdrop of Las Vegas, where Celine performed in the summer of 2019. It is currently unknown when and why the call was made, but it is likely that it was due to the singer's struggle with hard man syndrome.

What will be discussed in "Me: Celine Dion"

The trailer continues with a montage of fragments depicting the star's performances during tours and singing in a recording studio. The celebrity remarks that the recording sounds great, but on stage, everything changes. In between physiotherapy, she says: "I work hard every day."

What is known about the star's disease

In December 2022, Dion was diagnosed with SPS, a rare and incurable autoimmune neurological disease that typically causes stiffness in the muscles of the human trunk. According to the Cleveland Clinic, over time, patients may develop spasms in their legs and other muscles.

Céline Dion noted that the disease affected her vocal cords, which of course affected her performances. In 2023, the singer canceled all the concerts that were part of her world tour.
