Better than the coronation of King Charles. Eurovision 2023 from Ukraine received a BAFTA TV award
The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 has won the prestigious BAFTA TV award in the Best Live Show category. Last year, a Ukrainian-British team worked on organizing the event, as the 2022 winners were the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra. Due to the war in Ukraine, Eurovision 2023 was hosted by Britain as the silver medalist.
The event was hosted by British actress Anna Waddingham and Ukrainian singer and leader of the band Hardkiss Yulia Sanina. On May 12, the singer arrived in London to receive the award in person. Interestingly, the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 has even beaten the coronation of Charles III. The full list of winners can be found on the official BAFTA website.
After the winner of the Best Live Show nomination was announced, the Eurovision 2023 team took to the stage to receive the statuette. The award was handed over to Anna Weddingham, who thanked them on behalf of the organizers of the song contest. "The week we spent at this time last year, I know for everyone here, was the most exceptional, intense week," the actress said, adding that "it was epic."
