Ukraine and Moldova will build a new bridge on the border. It will be located near the settlements of Yampol (Ukraine) and Kosec (Moldova).

Approximate length of the bridge - more than 1.4 km, it will have two lanes of traffic in each direction. As an MP, chairman of the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada Daniil Getmantsev wrote in his Telegram, the construction of the bridge is an important step for Ukraine.

Why is the bridge important for Ukraine?

Ukraine has been deprived of the possibility to ship its products by sea for more than a year now. Even the "grain corridor" extended until July 18 is working at only 20% of its normal throughput capacity due to artificial obstacles created by the aggressor country Russia. The prospects for prolonging the agreement are still unclear.

Therefore, the main transport arteries for Ukraine in the near future will be railroad and automobile overland crossings (we occasionally have trouble with the latter from certain neighbors), as well as Danube ports (whose capacity is not unlimited), the deputy explains. And the new bridge will be the shortest route for products from the central and eastern regions of Ukraine to the states of Central and Southeastern Europe.

The bridge will relieve the key, in terms of traffic flow between Ukraine and Moldova, the Mogilev-Podolsky-Otach crossing.

"And after all, we are moving symmetrically with Moldova towards full membership in the EU, our trade turnover with it will grow and expand, so it is very important for us to actively develop the transport infrastructure in order to have the technical ability to serve increased commodity flows," said Getmantsev.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, the reconstruction agency made the first step to the realization of the pilot project of reconstruction by the principle "build back better" of the settlements damaged because of the hostilities.
