How Russian diesel fuel gets to Ukraine: the scheme is revealed
Russian oil products are shipped to Ukraine by sea. To do this, the aggressor country of the Russian Federation resorts to various schemes and rewrites bills of lading (documents issued to cargo carriers that certify ownership of the shipped goods).
However, the oil products do not bear the markings of refineries from the aggressor country of Russia. Oil market expert Leonid Kosyanchuk told OBOZREVATEL about this.
"The Russians are not stupid in this regard, they use various schemes with the maritime fleet, rewrite bills of lading, etc. I doubt that the ports receive oil products labelled as produced by Russian refineries. Most likely, this is done by rewriting bills of lading or resale, which can happen with However, I am sure that the volumes of Russian oil products imported by our operators are somewhat exaggerated by the "premium" players in the Ukrainian oil market," the expert said.
Earlier, Kosyanchuk said that petrol prices in Ukraine could rise by UAH 10-11 per litre, diesel fuel by UAH 7-8 per litre and autogas by UAH 3.5-4 per litre. Such a scenario is possible after the value added tax (VAT) on fuel returns to its pre-war level of 20% on July 1. Currently, it is 7%.
The expert noted that there is currently a surplus of oil products on the market. Over the past week, prices in the wholesale segment have fallen by more than UAH 1 per litre.
OBOZREVATEL reported that large volumes of Russian propane-butane have started to be supplied to Ukraine. Most of it is imported from Latvia and Poland, while less is supplied from Lithuania.
