Currently, more than a dozen Ukrainian pilots are training on F-16s in the United States and Denmark. It is expected that the first fighter jets will arrive in Ukraine according to the schedule, i.e. this summer.

This was stated by Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder. He was quoted by the Voice of America.

According to the spokesman, some Ukrainian pilots have already completed training in the United States and moved on to the next phase of training in Europe.

Pat Ryder emphasized that the duration of pilot training is individual and depends on their experience and skills.

As a reminder, the first Western F-16 fighter jets, which Kyiv has been asking for for at least two years, are due to arrive in Ukraine in July this year. They are unlikely to change the situation on the frontline quickly, but they will strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, experts say.

Ukraine is putting pressure on the United States and other countries to intensify training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. The current programs cannot train enough pilots to fly the aircraft that our country will soon receive.
