An Italian journalist claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counter-offensive was "not working". Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba aptly responded, noting that Ukrainian defenders will break through the defence line that Russian kaffirs have built over more than a year of occupation in southern Ukraine, just as the allies once broke through the Gustav Line in Italy.

This was reported by the Corriere della Sera. Thus, the Italian journalist asked Kuleba a question: "Minister, it seems that your counter-offensive is not working. What are the reasons? Consequences?", but the Foreign Minister denied it.

"The counter-offensive is moving slowly but steadily," he stressed.

Kuleba explained that it is difficult to move forward, "but eventually we will do it".

"I think about the Battle of Monte Cassino. Initially, the Allies were blocked by formidable German positions, it took them four months to break them, but then they managed to liberate Rome. Our situation is similar - we have summer and winter trenches. I am confident that we will win," he said.

It should be added that the Battle of Monte Cassino was a series of four bloody battles that saw the troops of the Anti-Hitler Coalition break through the line of German fortifications known as the Gustav Line and enter Rome.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Defence Forces have liberated more than 40,000 square kilometres of territory. The area of de-occupied land is almost twice the size of Israel.
