Consequences of the Shahed attack on Mykolaiv on November 11

On the night of November 11, a Russian Shahed kamikaze drone hit a residential building in Mykolaiv, partially destroying and damaging the houses where the residents were sleeping. Five people were killed in the attack, another woman was hospitalized, and 22 people sought psychological help on the spot.

Several apartments in a high-rise building near the epicenter of the explosion were destroyed by fire, while others had their windows smashed. A resident told about her experience in a comment to Radio Liberty.

"At first it was chirping... They were shooting down these mopeds. I was sleeping in the very room where it hit. I could hear it flying down. I wanted to open the window, but it's a good thing I didn't get up because the windows would have all fallen on my head. I covered myself with a blanket, squeezed myself into a ball and they flew past me," the woman said.

She added that after the shelling, residents helped to clear the rubble. But then the rescuers urged everyone to move away: it was dangerous because apartments on the top two floors were burning. Several cars also burned down.

According to the RMA, five Russian attack drones were shot down over the Mykolaiv region at night.

The Shahed hit in Mykolaiv occurred around 01:50: fires broke out in a multi-story building and a private house, which were quickly extinguished. One private house was destroyed, and several others were damaged, including a multi-story building. Two cars were destroyed. The blast wave damaged apartments, and four shops, a heating network was broken, and there were disconnections from the heat and gas supply.
