Russia targets Zaporizhzhia with guided bombs: private houses destroyed, a woman rescued from the rubble. Photo and video
On the morning of September 29, Russian occupation forces massively shelled Zaporizhzhia with guided bombs. A multi-story building and 15 private houses were destroyed in the regional center, and six civilians were injured.
Shevchenkivskyi, Kommunarskyi and Oleksandrivskyi districts came under attack. This was reported by the head of Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov.
"As of now, we know of one destroyed multi-story building and at least 15 private houses. Windows and doors have been blown out in about 15 high-rise buildings. One woman is under the rubble. Six people are injured, two of them are hospitalized. Rescue operations are underway," he said as of 08:30.
At 9:14, it became known that the injured woman was rescued from the rubble. She was taken to the hospital.
In the morning, the RMA reported that the Russians were massively attacking residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia with guided bombs. Explosions were heard in the city and residents were urged to stay in safe places.
Later, the RMA showed a photo with the consequences of the enemy shelling. It is noted that the occupiers dropped more than 10 bombs on Zaporizhzhia.
"A high-rise building and private houses were partially destroyed in the city. It is possible that there may be people under the rubble," the administration said.
The massive enemy shelling lasted from 05:25 to 06:00 on Sunday. According to the State Emergency Service, in addition to damage to residential buildings in different parts of the city, several fires broke out.
"Emergency workers are conducting search and rescue operation. Information on the consequences and the number of damaged private houses is being clarified," the service said.
Dozens of rescuers and many units of equipment from the State Emergency Service were involved in the operation. Police officers, explosives experts, volunteers of the Rapid Response Unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and other specialized services of the city were also working at the scene.
According to the National Police, the Russians dropped 13 guided bombs on Zaporizhzhia. One of them hit a residential high-rise building, which was partially destroyed. It was here that the rescuers pulled out a woman who was trapped under the rubble.
Four more hits were recorded near the infrastructure facility and in the private sector. The blast wave and shrapnel damaged warehouses, private houses, and civilian vehicles.
"Dear citizens. Zaporizhzhia police urges you not to ignore air raid alerts. Take care of yourself and your loved ones," the law enforcement officers said.
As reported, on the night of September 26, the occupation forces attacked the civilian infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia, injuring nine people. There were hits to residential buildings and the territory of one of the enterprises.
