Lukashenko says Ukraine wants to provoke Putin into a nuclear strike and talks about escalation

For days on end, Lukashenko has been making statements about a nuclear strike and the need for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia

Ukraine's offensive in the Kursk region of Russia is Kyiv's attempt to "provoke Moscow to use nuclear weapons." At the same time, NATO troops may "enter the war" and are even allegedly planning to "seize Belarus."

This is the set of selected propaganda nonsense that Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko gave in an interview for the Russian state-run propaganda channel Rossiya. He also went on a long and tedious rant about the "invincible empire" of the Russian Federation and shared fantasies about crowds of Ukrainian men breaking through the Belarusian border to "live and work" there.

In another "interview," Lukashenko dutifully rehearsed all the key Kremlin narratives about Russia's war against Ukraine, not forgetting to mention the already tired "nuclear stick" of Russian dictator Putin. The Belarusian dictator, along with his Russian "colleague," has listed himself among the leaders of the "nuclear powers."

Thus, according to Lukashenko, the fact that Ukraine is defending itself against an unprovoked full-scale invasion, does not agree to give up its territories and people to the occupier, and has found a sore spot for the Russian regime by launching an offensive in the Kursk region is a "provocation" on the part of Kyiv.

"Such an escalation on the part of Ukraine (the operation in the Kursk region - Ed.) is an attempt to push Russia into asymmetric actions. Let's say, for example, the use of nuclear weapons. I know for sure that Ukraine would be very happy if Russia or we used tactical nuclear weapons," Lukashenko said, without explaining the reasons for such "joy" on the part of Ukrainians.

This "interview" was not without the favorite thesis of Russian propaganda that Russia is surrounded by enemies on all sides, and the West is sleeping and seeing how to take over Russia. According to Lukashenko, Western countries will soon be directly involved in the war, and "NATO troops will go directly in formations."

And they will, of course, "go" to seize Russian territories and Belarus, the Belarusian dictator emphasizes.

"And even better, what they want is for these vile Poles to seize Belarus and stretch this line almost to Leningrad, as it once was, this is their dream," Lukashenko shared his fantasies.

The Belarusian dictator tried to present Ukraine's operation in the Kursk region as a suicidal PR campaign and an unsuccessful attempt to create a stronger position for Kyiv in future negotiations with Moscow.

"I agree with Putin when he said that there is a struggle to raise rates. That they want to win a stronger position if there are negotiations. The West says the same thing, and Ukraine dreams of it. But another question arises: in this situation and in similar ones, who will negotiate with them? Therefore, it is wrong to raise the stakes of your authority, to take a more favorable position at the negotiating table, this is not the case. This is a classic, but it is not suitable in this struggle between a huge empire that has not yet begun to really fight, for sure!" Lukashenko repeated several times Putin's favorite myth about the "invincibility" of the Russian Federation.

Lukashenko repeated the word "empire," which brought a smug smile to the face of Yevgeny Popov, the husband of propagandist Olga Skabeeva, who conducted the "interview," several more times. In particular, when he talked about the fact that Ukrainians do not want to fight and that almost the entire population of our country is fleeing Ukraine.

"It is impossible for Ukraine to fight against such an empire, where people are fleeing from war... Although, as they say, they have a domestic war. If it's a domestic war, why run away? Fight it. We went through the national war together. No one ran away then. And we see it now. Now in Poland and other countries friendly to Ukraine, they have begun to catch everyone and send them to the front," the Belarusian dictator said.

After that, he deviated a bit from the Kremlin's methodology and made a passage about Belarus. According to the dictator, the same Ukrainians who are fleeing the war are almost all going to Belarus. And almost all of them are allegedly men of military age.

"They can't go to Russia! They would run, but there is a front there. So they started running to us. "The 'evaders' are running to us, through us in large streams. If families with children come here, it is a guarantee that they are fleeing the war and want to work. Well, some families we... I give them citizenship, sign decrees, give them housing, and they work for us. Moreover, we need decent people. They are also - we see them - but not a single family that we have sheltered here has behaved badly. And the rest, for the most part, run to the West. 98%, maybe even 99%, are men who are running away from the war, who do not want to fight. How can you fight an empire when you have no one to fight?" Lukashenka said.

In addition, the Belarusian dictator revealed that one of the declared "goals" of the "special operation" launched by Putin against Ukraine has already been achieved.

"There are no more Nazis there. Ukraine has been denazified," Lukashenko said, adding that 70% of Ukrainians allegedly "hate Zelensky."

Interestingly, the topic of negotiations, which the Kremlin desperately needs, was a red thread throughout the interview. In particular, Lukashenko began to threaten that if Kyiv does not sit down to negotiate with Russia, "there will be an escalation that will end in the destruction of Ukraine."

To recap, the day before, Lukashenko also spoke about negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. He noted that Belarus was ready to take on the role of a negotiating platform for conflict resolution.

The day before, Lukashenka called on Ukraine and the aggressor country Russia to sit down at the negotiating table and end "this fight" - as he called the Russian war against our country. He said that only the West allegedly wants the war to continue.
