Explosions heard in Khmelnytsky region: Air Defense was working

Air Defense Forces working in the Khmelnytsky region

Explosions occurred in the Khmelnytsky region on the morning of September 15. Air Defense work was reported.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Residents of the region were urged to stay in shelters.

"Air Defense work in the Khmelnytsky region. Stay in shelters!" the message says.

The Khmelnytsky Regional Military Administration also confirmed the Air Defense operation.

"An explosion was heard in the region. Air defense is working. Stay in shelters until the air raid alert is over!" the first deputy head of the regional military administration Serhii Tiurin said at 06:55.

According to the Air Force of Ukraine, the Russian occupiers launched Iranian kamikaze drones on the  Khmelnytskyi region. A total of 17 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs were launched from the southeast (Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russia) overnight. They were flying in the direction of Khmelnytsky region on different routes.

"All 17 Shaheds were destroyed by Air Defense along the route. Fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and other components of the Defense Forces were involved," the Air Force said.

As a reminder, the Medzhybizh Fortress was damaged as a result of a Russian attack on the Khmelnytsky region on August 22. At the time of the attack, more than 300 students from all over Ukraine were in the castle, but they managed to get down to the shelter. 8 people sought medical care after the attack.

The invaders attack the region regularly mostly trying to hit the airfield in Starokostiantyniv.
