Excellent work of drones: the network shows the damaged Russian Sig tanker and Olenegorskiy Gornyak ship
New footage has appeared online showing damage to the Russian landing ship Olenegorskiy Gornyak and the SIG tanker in the Black Sea. They were attacked by Ukrainian naval drones.
The photos and videos were published on Thursday, 10 August, on Telegram channels. Damage can be seen on the port side of the Olenegorskiy Gornyak.
It can also be seen that there are holes in the SIG's side.
It should be noted that the Russian SIG tanker was attacked by naval drones on the night of 5 August, 30 miles from the Kerch Strait. It suffered a hole in the engine room. The crew remains on the ship, as there is allegedly no threat of sinking, the Russian Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport said.
However, Russian propagandists have distributed an audio recording of a conversation between the SIG captain and the dispatcher, in which the former said that the ship could not sail on its own due to the damage.
As you know, the SIG was transporting aviation fuel from Russia-occupied Crimea to Syria, for which it was included in the US sanctions list.
The large amphibious assault ship Olenegorskiy Gornyak was damaged on 4 August. It was attacked by a naval surface drone in the Novorossiysk Bay. It was reported that the vessel had sustained a serious hole, had fallen overboard and was no longer able to carry out its combat missions.
On 10 August, it became known that the Russians had taken it to a floating dock for repairs. The occupiers probably hope to repair the Olenegorskiy Gornyak, although a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, previously stated that it would not be possible to restore the ship in the near future.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the British Ministry of Defence noted that both "civilian" vessels were used for the needs of the aggressor state's army. And putting them out of action would be very painful for the Russians.
