Olympic rhythmic gymnastics champion Alina Kabaeva, who is considered to be dictator Vladimir Putin's mistress, has demanded a change in the international federation's (FIG) decision to allow Russian athletes to compete under a neutral flag. She called the restrictions on the use of national symbols of the aggressor country politicization of sports.

Kabaeva said this in a comment to the press service of the academy "Heavenly Grace". The winner of the Athens 2004 Games added that there were no grounds for banning the Russian flag and anthem and that the FIG decision itself was insufficient to restore the full rights of athletes from the terrorist state.

"We welcome the FIG's decision to allow Russian athletes to compete. However, it is not enough. Russian athletes must have the right to compete under their own flag. The monopoly of individual countries on international sports organizations is unacceptable. Political interference in sport destroys it. It is necessary to create an international sports system that would be free from politics," Kabaeva said.
