"It should be a shame": Russian Foreign Ministry calls conditions for Russia's admission to the 2024 Paralympics shameless and illegal

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has called it illegal to allow Russian athletes to participate in the 2024 Paralympic Games in neutral status. The diplomat from the aggressor country spoke on behalf of the Paralympic Committee and added that sports should remain out of politics.

Zakharova said this during a briefing, according to the website of the propaganda TV channel Match TV. She cynically accused sports officials of having no conscience, forgetting about Russia's war crimes against Ukraine and the constant lies of dictator Vladimir Putin's henchmen.

"We continue to believe that the decision taken by the General Assembly is completely illegal, unjustified, violates the basic principles of a clean, equal, non-politicized sports movement and contradicts the prohibition of discrimination on any grounds that underlies the Paralympic values. There is an understanding of the path taken by people who have become disabled for various reasons, but by their example they prove that life goes on no matter what. They give hope to other people to move forward. It should be a shame. Not only did the legal body give its opinion, but there is conscience," Zakharova said.

Earlier, Pavel Rozhkov, head of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC), was afraid of the "eternal" suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions.
