"We are cool": Russian Olympic champion says Putin is leading his country into a "fantastic future"
Two-time Olympic champion Viacheslav Fetisov has named dictator Vladimir Putin one of the main reasons for his pride in Russia. The former hockey player, answering the question of what the concept of homeland means to him, tried to suck up to the president of the terrorist state.
Fetisov said this in an interview with the Match TV propaganda channel. The Stanley Cup winner and State Duma deputy spoke about his country's greatness and wealth in the best traditions of representatives of the aggressor country and predicted a "fantastic and cool future" for Russians under Putin.
"My homeland is my family first and foremost. It is my land, my friends, the people who live in my country, and, of course, my president, who today embodies both patriotism and the desire to be the first. He also understands his responsibility. Our land is enormously rich not only in natural resources but above all in people: from Chukotka to Kaliningrad. I travel a lot and I can say that we are cool. We have a fantastic, cool future if we want it. And we are moving in that direction, judging by everything," Fetisov said.
Earlier, he called International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) President Luc Tardif a moron over the disqualification of CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov. Before that, Fetisov insulted the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matishyn has made an insane statement that the IOC has removed international volleyball from the Russian one.
