The competition is held in the Czech Republic

On Wednesday, February 7, the 57th Biathlon World Championships started in the Czech city of Nove Mesto na Morave with a mixed relay. Ukraine, which was represented in this discipline by Artem Pryma, Dmytro Pidruchnyi, Yulia Dzhima and Iryna Petrenko, took 7th place.

Pryma had an unsuccessful start to his stage, "burying himself" at the firing line on the first shot. Artem made two inaccurate shots on the bed, leaving his competitors 45 seconds behind. Two more misses at the rack did not allow Ukraine to return to the head of the peloton.

Pidruchnyi entered the race ninth, 48 seconds behind the leading France. Despite the fact that Dmytro managed to pull the team up one position during his stage, our team slipped even further in time (+1:29.9).

Yulia Dzhyma practically retained her handicap, but improved the position of the "yellow and blue" team by sending Iryna Petrenko into battle from 7th place (1:33.8).

Unfortunately, the 31-year-old native of Chernihiv region was unable to compete with the representatives of Norway and France, losing to them by many moves.

Even good shooting (one miss on the rack) did not save the situation. As a result, Ukraine's loss at the finish was 2:48.8.

The World Cup will take place on February 9. The program of the World Championships includes a women's sprint.
