In a nature reserve in Namibia, there are unusual friends: Betsy the warthog and Jerry the meerkat. Their strong friendship, reminiscent of the relationship between Timon and Pumba from the famous cartoon The Lion King, has captured the hearts of people around the world since the video of these two friends appeared on the Internet.

Travel blogger and animal rights activist Ruben Lambrechts regularly shares touching videos of animals on Instagram. However, the video of the real-life Timon and Pumba's funny pranks went viral, with almost 7 million views at the time of our news publication.

According to animal caretakers, just like the characters in the Disney cartoon, Jerry and Betsy, despite their size difference, get along well, spend a lot of time together, playing and having fun.

The meerkat loves to climb on the back of his massive friend - just like in the cartoon "The Lion King".

Ruben Lambrechts said that both animals are orphans and are under the care of the reserve. Although they will not be able to return to the wild, they have been provided with extremely comfortable living conditions. Ruben founded a foundation to protect orphaned animals.

Feeling the love of their caretakers, Jerry and Betsy are quite trusting of people, although they are not pets. The meerkat is happy to be picked up, and Betsy likes to climb on Reuben's back and gently nibble his ear, demanding that he scratch her tummy.

Interestingly, a similar friendship exists in a Botswana reserve, where instead of a meerkat, a mongoose keeps the warthog company, which also closely resembles the famous cartoon duo.
