Soviet eating habits

Eating behavior is one of the most difficult habits to change. It is formed from childhood and, as a rule, is not much different from that of your parents.

That's why most people now have habits that have come into their lives since the Soviet Union even if they didn't live in that time. FoodOboz presents three of the most popular eating habits of Soviet citizens that are still widespread today.

Eating porridge or soup for breakfast

You can eat porridge or soup at any time of the day. But in the USSR, it was almost a traditional breakfast. Experts believe that light protein dishes, such as scrambled or boiled eggs, salads, or cottage cheese pancakes are a much better option.

Eating bread daily

Bread is a healthy product if you choose whole grain one. However, you should not eat it with pasta or cereal. Flour products are very high in calories, so they should be eaten for breakfast or as an addition to first courses in small quantities only.

Eating canned fruits and vegetables

These products are not very healthy - during the preservation process, they undergo several stages of heat treatment, losing their properties. In addition, vinegar and a large amount of sugar are red flags too.
