Former journalist Ihor Burbas said that players of the Zhytomyr-based Polissia receive USD 2,000 for each goal scored in the Premier League. At the same time, a team victory is valued at a much smaller bonus of $650 for each player.
Burbas clarified that this situation was initiated by head coach Imad Ashour. It was with the arrival of the new coach that Polissia introduced individual bonuses that are much higher than the team bonuses.
"A player from the Zhytomyr club receives $2000 for scoring a goal and $1000 for an assist," the journalist said.
Burbas also admitted that the goalkeeper and defenders receive $2000 each for a winning match in which the goalkeeper did not concede a single goal.
It should be noted that Polissia is in third place in the UPL standings with five wins.
Oleksandr Nazarenko and Oleksiy Hutsulyak of the Zhytomyr club lead the scoring list.
