How to prepare pea soup properly so that the legume is cooked
Pea soup is one of the most budget-friendly, hearty and easy-to-prepare dishes. All you need to do is boil the peas properly, so it's best to soak them overnight before cooking.
A cook shared a recipe for a delicious pea soup with meat, which turns out to be very tender, on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- smoked ribs - 400 g
- split peas - 500 g
- water - 2.5 liters
- carrots - 2 pcs
- onions - 2 pcs
- large potatoes - 3 pcs
- turmeric - 1 tsp
- salt, pepper
- dill
- croutons
Method of preparation:
1. Put the ribs, whole carrots, onions and chopped potatoes in a saucepan.
2. Rinse the peas, drain them and put them in a saucepan, preferably overnight. Cover with water and boil until the peas are fully cooked.
3. Remove the carrots and onions from the pot. Separate the meat from the bones and chop it.
4. In a separate pan, fry the grated carrots and onions. Add turmeric and fry until the onions are translucent.
5. Add the vegetables and chopped meat to the soup and cook for another 10-15 minutes. Adjust the thickness of the soup with water and add chopped dill.
Serve with toasted bread or croutons!
