Cloud pie: a recipe for a dessert that literally melts in your mouth

Cloud pie is exactly the kind of dessert you want to treat yourself and your family to on weekends. It is extremely tasty, light, and practically melts in your mouth. It is not difficult to prepare, and the cake will disappear from the table quickly.

Ingredients for the apple layer

  • Pitted apples - 500 g
  • Sugar - 50 g
  • Lemon juice - 2 tbsp

Ingredients for the cream souffle

  • Protein - 2 pcs
  • Sugar - 150 g
  • Vanilla sugar - 10 gr
  • Sour cream 10% - 400 g
  • Corn starch - 35 g

Ingredients for the dough

  • Flour - 250 g
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp.
  • Butter - 100 g
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Sugar - 50 gr
  • Vanilla sugar - 5 g

The method of preparation

1. Cut apples into slices, add sugar, mix, caramelize in a frying pan until golden brown. You can add 1 tsp of butter, cinnamon, dry lime zest.

2. Leave to cool on a plate.

3. Cut the cold butter into pieces, add the sifted flour and baking powder, and grind the vanilla sugar into crumbs.

4. Mix the egg yolks and sugar with a whisk, pour into the flour mixture, mix/grind to incorporate the egg mixture into the crumbs.

5. Leave 1/4 of the crumbs to sprinkle on top of the cake.

6. Cover the bottom of the mold with a diameter of 20 cm with parchment, pour most of the crumbs, first form the sides to the full height of the mold with your fingers, and then the bottom.

7. Put the mold with the dough in the refrigerator.

8. Meanwhile, prepare the cream soufflé. Mix sour cream with starch and vanilla sugar.

9. Beat the egg whites with salt until foamy. Gradually add sugar and beat until peaks form.

10. Add the whipped whites to the sour cream, mix on low speed until smooth.

11. Remove the mold with the dough from the refrigerator, put the filling, pour the souffle, lightly hit the table, pour the crumbs (lightly, so that the crumbs do not settle)

12. Bake in a preheated oven to t 180 for an hour.
