The Day of Remembrance of the Martyrs Trofim, Savatii and Dormidont

On September 19, the Orthodox Church commemorates the martyrs Trokhym, Savatii and Dormidont. These saints suffered for the Christian faith during the persecution in the Roman Empire. According to legend, Trokhym and Savatii were friends and traveled together to Nicaea to participate in a celebration in honor of pagan gods.

However, being deeply committed Christians, they refused to make sacrifices and openly professed their faith. For this, they were arrested, tortured, and executed. Dormidontus, who served in the Roman army, watching the suffering of Trokhym and Savatii, decided to accept the Christian faith himself, and for this he was also martyred.
