"Shuba" salad in a new way: how to cook a familiar dish, but with an different taste
"Shuba" salad is a very simple and light beetroot salad, which in the classic version is prepared with herring and mayonnaise. But if you don't like herring, you can replace it with red fish or boiled eggs.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares a recipe for a delicious "Shuba" with boiled eggs, herring, and vegetables.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes 4 pcs.
- Carrots 4 pcs
- Beetroot 3-4 pcs
- Eggs 4-5 pcs
- Herring 400 g
- Half an onion (or 1 small one)
- Mayonnaise.
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the vegetables until tender, cool, and peel. Grate, add a little salt and immediately add mayonnaise, and mix.
2. Cut the herring into small cubes, add the chopped onion, and mix.
3. Hard-boil the eggs, peel them, and separate the white from the yolk.
4. Assemble the salad in layers: potatoes, herring with onions, carrots, egg white (also grate), then beets.
