Never wash raw meat: we tell you what it can lead to
Many people, after buying meat, have a strong desire to wash it immediately under running water and only then cook it. And it can be in several waters, very thoroughly. But this is an extremely big mistake that only brings harm.
Nutritionist Natalia Kozak (good.food.plan) spoke about why meat should not be washed on her Instagram page. The expert also drew attention to the best way to defrost the product and on which board to cut it.
A huge number of pathogens live on the surface of meat, such as E. coli. When we wash meat with water, the water itself does not destroy the bacteria, but washes them away. If the splashes fly in different directions, the colonization of surfaces, dishes, and other products occurs very quickly. Therefore, to prevent this, you need to follow a few simple rules.
Important points to consider
1. Frozen meat is best thawed in a glass container in the refrigerator.
2. Immediately after thawing, place the meat on a cutting board without rinsing. The board should be separate, preferably glass.
3. Cook at a sufficiently high temperature, whatever the dish.
4. Wash the board gently with dishwashing detergent.
5. Treat the surfaces with an antiseptic.
6. Wash your hands well (you can also use an antiseptic).
