Never bake chicken without this ingredient: the meat will be very juicy with it

Chicken in the oven often turns out to be quite dry. This is because the meat is lean. But you can add juiciness to it with one simple ingredient.

The idea of cooking juicy baked chicken was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Kateryna Movchan. Put lemon slices inside the whole chicken.

Ingredients:

  • whole chicken – 1 pc (weight 1.5-2 kg)
  • salt and pepper – to taste
  • dried basil – 2 tsp.
  • lemon – 4 pcs.
  • half a small bunch of parsley
  • oil – 3 tbsp.
  • garlic – 2 cloves
  • potatoes – 1 kg

Method of preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (up and down, no convection).

2. Wash and dry the chicken with a paper towel.

3. Rub the chicken inside and out with salt, pepper, and dried basil.

4. Place in a high-sided baking dish.

5. Peel, wash, and cut the potatoes into quarters. If the potatoes are small, cut them into halves.

6. Place on the sides of the chicken, and season with salt and pepper.

7. Cut three lemons into quarters and put them inside the chicken, tamping them well.

8. Put in the oven for an hour.

9. Make a flavorful mixture: finely chop the parsley, grate the garlic (or squeeze it through a press), and grate the zest of one lemon on a fine grater.

10. Put the chopped parsley, garlic, and zest in a bowl. Add salt and oil, and mix well.

11. After an hour of baking, take the chicken out of the oven and brush well with the flavor mixture.

12. Reduce the heat in the oven to 180 degrees and bake the chicken for another 30-35 minutes.

13. You can turn on convection 15 minutes before cooking.
