How to pickle green tomatoes: a recipe from Yaroslavskyi for a 3-liter jar
Green tomatoes are one of the most popular types of canned food. The result is an extremely tasty, beautiful, and interesting appetizer.
Chef Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi knows exactly how to properly salt green tomatoes so that everyone will like them. On Instagram, he explained in detail what ingredients are needed for this.
Ingredients for a 3 liter jar:
- Green tomatoes
- Salt
- Garlic
- Dill
- Bay leaves
- Black pepper
- Allspice pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the tomatoes and pierce them with a skewer 5-6 times in different places.
2. Immerse them in salted water and soak them for 2 hours.
3. Take them out of the water and put them in a jar tightly together.
4. Add fresh garlic, spices, bay leaves. You can also add currant leaves, horseradish, a little hot pepper, cumin, or cloves.
5. Pour water into the jar and leave it for a while.
6. Drain the water and add 80 grams of salt. Dissolve.
7. Pour salted water over the tomatoes, cover them with a cloth lid, and put them in a cool place for two weeks.
