A trifle is a classic English dessert that has been served at the most refined tables for the past four centuries. It is prepared in a glass and can have different flavors.

A food blogger with the nickname julia food blog ua shared how to make Snickers trifles on Instagram. This dessert will appeal to both adults and children.

Ingredients for a sponge cake ( d16cm mold)

  • Eggs - 4 pcs
  • Sugar - 140 gr
  • Milk - 80 ml
  • Oil - 60 ml
  • Flour - 130 gr
  • Cocoa - 30 gr
  • Baking powder - 6 g

Ingredients for caramel

  • Sugar - 170 g
  • Cream from 30% - 200 ml
  • Water - 45 ml
  • White chocolate - 40 g

Ingredients for the cream

  • Cream cheese - 1 kg
  • Fatty cream 33% - 400 ml
  • Powdered sugar - 150 gr
  • Nut paste - 80 g

Ingredients for the impregnation

  • Water - 150 ml
  • Sugar - 100 g

The way of preparation

1. Prepare the sponge cake. Beat eggs at room temperature with sugar until fluffy and light for 6-7 minutes.

2. Add the vegetable oil and milk. Mix at medium speed until smooth.

3. Sift the cocoa, flour and baking powder through a sieve. Add to the egg mixture in two stages.

4. Gently knead the dough with a spatula in one direction. Then pour the dough into a tall mold (at least 10 cm) or into two molds equally.

5. Bake in a preheated oven to 180 degrees for about 50 minutes. Two forms 25-30 minutes.

6. Remove the sponge cake(s) from the oven and let stand for 15-20 minutes.

7. Then remove and place on a wire rack to cool completely.

8. Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for at least 5 hours.

9. Prepare the caramel. In a small saucepan with a thick bottom, combine water and sugar.

10. Cook the syrup until it turns a light amber color (do not stir).

11. Heat the cream in parallel, but do not boil. Add the hot cream to the caramel and mix thoroughly with a whisk.

12. Pour the caramel through a sieve and add salt and chocolate. Mix again.

13. Prepare the cream. Beat the cooled ingredients until creamy.

14. Prepare the soak. Boil the syrup for three minutes after boiling and let it cool.

15. Assemble the dessert. Grind the sponge cake in a blender until it becomes crumbly and put it into serving glasses.

16. Press down with a glass and spread the cream.

17. Put the caramel in the center of the glass on top of the cream.

18. Put the sponge cake crumbs on top again. Tamp it down.

19. Spread a layer of cream. Decorate with pieces of chocolate.
