Delicious homemade cake without flour: add chocolate drizzle on top
Desserts with poppy seeds are always associated with childhood and family comfort. Every Ukrainian housewife definitely has some kind of delicacy with this filling in her notebook. The idea for the next dessert should also be saved.
The idea of making a flavorful flourless makivnнk was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Tanya Perchik (tanya.perchik). It is in this dessert that you can use homemade nuts.
Ingredients for the dough:
- ground poppy seeds - 160 g
- egg - 3 pcs.
- milk - 300 ml
- powdered sugar - 90 g
- semolina - 70 g
- butter - 80 g
- baking powder - 8 g
- apple - 1 pc.
Ingredients for the chocolate topping:
- nuts - 50 g
- chocolate - 120 g
- water - 25 ml.
Method of preparation:
1. Steam the poppy seeds with hot milk, and boil for 2 minutes.
2. Cover and leave for an hour.
3. Beat soft butter with powdered sugar and egg yolks.
4. Add the cooled poppy seed mixture in parts and mix well.
5. Mix semolina with baking powder and add to the poppy seed dough.
6. Peel the apple, grate it, and add to the dough.
7. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff, add them to the poppy seed dough in parts, and mix gently.
8. Transfer to a 24x10 cm baking dish and bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 50 minutes.
9. Cool the cake and decorate with melted chocolate and walnuts.
