Florence took the top spot, followed by Riga and Hamburg. Madrid rounds out the top five, behind only Porto. To compile this list, experts used various data sources, including indicators from platforms such as Tourlane and WalkScore, as well as an analysis of the distance between major attractions.

The experts' assessment was also influenced by such indicators as air quality and safety, referring to IQAir data and Numbeo safety indices.
It is not surprising that Madrid took such a high position in the list, as it is home to the country's main attractions – the Royal Palace and the Prado Museum. Traditionally, hiking is best done in the central areas, such as Puerto del Sol and Retiro Park, which are historical landmarks.
