Houseplants can be a great decoration for any home. They can also improve air quality, absorb excess moisture, and reduce dust.

However, potted plants can also attract various pests that want to eat their leaves. Creative Explained has told you how to get rid of them.

Usually, when insects appear in the house, the first thing that comes to mind is to buy chemical pest control products. However, purchased products can be harmful not only to pests, but also to plants, pets, and even humans. In addition, such chemicals can be quite expensive.

Fortunately, there is a way to prepare an effective and safe product that will save your plants from insects on your own. Besides, you probably already have everything you need in your kitchen.

Recipe for making insect spray

First, take a red onion, roughly dice it, and put it in a container. Then add two chopped cloves of garlic and one teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the onion. Pour water over it all and refrigerate for 12 hours.

After the mixture has been infused, strain it and pour it into a spray bottle.

In the end, you will get an all-natural and non-toxic product that will protect indoor plants from aphids, slugs, spider mites, and other pests. All you have to do is spray it on the leaves.
