Israeli ship is the first to break through Russia's "grain blockade" in the Black Sea: how it happened. Map
The first vessel managed to break through the Russian blockade of the Black Sea and entered the Ukrainian branch of the Danube on Monday, 31 July, despite Russia's threats. This is the Israeli ship Ams1, which had earlier set sail from the city of Ashdod.
This was reported by Militarny. It is noted that this is the first ship to break through the Russian "grain blockade" after the occupiers shelled Reni.
Thus, on the night of 30 July, three civilian vessels, including Ams1 (Israel), as well as Sahin 2 (Greece) and Yilmaz Kaptan (Turkey/Georgia), passed through the Turkish Straits. Their destination in AIS Marine Traffic was Ukraine.
Ams1 also openly stated, when departing from Israel, that it was heading for Ukraine and crossed the Black Sea in a direct course.
It is now followed by four more vessels: Sahin 2 and Yilmaz Kaptan, as well as Sealock and Afer. All of them have either already anchored or will anchor on the Danube in the near future.
How did they do it?
The safety of the ships is ensured by the American anti-ship patrol aircraft Boeing P-8 Poseidon. It is refuelled right in the Romanian sky, and the Forte12 RQ-4 reconnaissance drone provides additional information about the situation at sea.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL:
- The grain deal ceased to function on 18 July. The EU condemned Russia's actions, the UN and Turkey promised to "continue efforts", and Ukraine expects the grain corridor to work without Russia.
- On 20 July, Russia declared all ships sailing in the Black Sea to Ukrainian ports to be carrying military cargo. Thus, the terrorist state will consider them a "legitimate military target".
- At the same time, the Kremlin is planning to export grain to Africa that was stolen from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The "free" grain that Russian dictator Putin "promised" to African countries after Russia withdrew from the "grain deal" will be stolen from the occupied territories in Zaporizhzhia.
