Life hacks for washing

Greasy stains on clothes are a real challenge. Even expensive chemicals cannot always remove greasy stains from the fibers. Aggressive bleaches often harm delicate fabrics, and it seems that there is only one way out: just throwing away the stained item or using it as a rag in the household.

In fact, it's not that critical, but you need to act immediately while the stain is still fresh. A simple life hack that will help clean grease from the fibers and preserve the fabric is gaining popularity online.

Chantel Mila, an expert in style, organization and cleaning, talked about five simple steps to help eliminate unpleasant grease stains.

Ingredients needed:

  • dishwashing detergent
  • baking soda

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1. The first step is to treat the stain with soapy water. According to Chantel, this will "break down the fat".

Step 2. Then you need to pour baking soda on the stain. Baking soda acts as a natural fat solvent and absorbent.

Step 3. Leave the soap and baking soda on for 10-15 minutes for the products to work. Then rinse the clothes and wash them in a washing machine or by hand (as you prefer).

An important note: to remove grease stains on white or light-colored clothes, it is better to use a transparent dishwashing liquid. A colored product can leave a stain on the fabric.

Ordinary salt will also come in handy. It can be added to detergents or used for washing in a machine. To know how salt can help get rid of greasy stains, read the article.
