Not everyone can boast of a long marriage, let alone a happy life together. That's why people are so eagerly looking for the secret of marital happiness. And one British couple has their own advice on this matter.

According to The Mirror, Josephine and Alfred Waterfield have already celebrated their 100th anniversary: his last November, and hers on October 4. They have been married for 75 years, which means that their family is older than 121 countries in the world. They have also surpassed the length of Queen Elizabeth II's reign in terms of marriage.

According to Alfred, the secret of such a long love for them is their daily quarrel. This was confirmed by the couple's 74-year-old son Allen. However, he added that these are not real scandals but minor domestic disputes.

Allen also revealed a secret that his father believes is the key to his longevity. And it's whiskey. "My dad loves whiskey, it's his drink. In fact, he drinks whiskey and beer with lunch every day and says it's good for him. They both drink Baileys every night before going to bed," the man added.

The couple has two sons together, and they also have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They postponed their anniversary celebrations until their son Brian, who lives in Australia, could fly to the UK. Josephine and Alfred were presented with a special cake from the staff of the institution for their joint anniversary. According to the couple's children, they really enjoyed the celebration.
