When you put your groceries away, eggs definitely end up in the fridge. But the following article will convince you not to do this anymore. Refrigeration actually has a very bad effect on the taste and quality of eggs.

The American newspaper Mirror has written about why you shouldn't store eggs in the refrigerator. The reasons for this are significant.

Why you can't store eggs in the refrigerator

The fact is that the shell of the product has a very porous texture. Because of this, when you put eggs in the refrigerator, they instantly begin to absorb the aroma of the food on the neighboring shelves. This, in turn, greatly changes the taste of the eggs themselves, their aroma and the quality of the dishes prepared with them. It will be especially unpleasant if you have spicy cheeses or vegetables such as onions or garlic in your refrigerator. What's more, there's no way to tell if your egg has absorbed any of these flavors until you eat it, which can lead to a horrible experience.

There is also a risk of spreading bacteria

Bacteria can get inside the egg through tiny pores, which can be dangerous to the body. This happens with eggs that are stored in the refrigerator.

Where is the best place to store eggs

Room temperature is ideal for the product. Even if you compare a sponge cake with cool eggs to one that was stored at room temperature, you can see a significant difference. The texture of the latter will, of course, be much better, chefs note.

Why supermarkets don't store eggs in the fridge

Changing the temperature when you take them out will cause condensation, which can increase the chances of salmonella bacteria.
