Diet shawarma: how to make a delicious roll a la Caesar
Summer is coming soon, which means it's time to get your body in shape after a long winter. It's time to change your diet to a lighter and more balanced one.
That's what a food blogger with the nickname thefoodhub.by_ilona decided to do. On Instagram, she shared how to make a dietary version of shawarma, which is very similar to Caesar salad.
Ingredients for shawarma:
- Iceberg lettuce – 3 large leaves
- Chicken fillet – 70-100 gr
- Parmesan cheese
- Breadcrumbs – a handful
- Blue onion
- Salt
Ingredients for the sauce for 2-3 rolls:
- Egg – 1 pc
- Vegetable oil – 100 ml
- Mustard – 1 tsp
- Garlic – 1 clove
- Lemon juice – 1 tsp
- Soy sauce – 1 tsp
- Canned anchovies – 2-3
- Parmesan cheese – 10 grams
- Salt – a pinch
Method of preparation:
1. First, prepare the sauce. Beat the egg, oil, and mustard in a blender until creamy.
2. Add all other ingredients and beat again.
3. Fry the chicken on the grill, in a frying pan, or bake it in the oven.
4. Lay the lettuce leaves on top of each other and sprinkle with salt.
5. Add the parmesan slices, chicken, breadcrumbs, and sauce.
6. Add more parmesan, onions and pour the sauce over the top again.
7. Wrap in a roll using parchment and cut in half.
