What is sorbet and how to make it with raspberries: an alternative to classic ice cream

Sorbet is a type of ice cream made from fresh or frozen berries. This dessert is healthy and low-calorie because it is based exclusively on natural ingredients.

The recipe for raspberry sorbet was published on the Master Chef culinary blog (masterchefstb) on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • raspberries - 200 g
  • water - 250 ml
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • juice of 1/2 lemon/lime

Method of preparation:

1. Pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, and place on low heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat and let it cool.

2. Pour the raspberries into a blender along with lemon or lime juice and blend until smooth. Strain the resulting puree through a sieve to remove the seeds.

3. Combine the cooled syrup and raspberry puree. Mix well.

4. Pour the mixture into a container and put it in the freezer. Take out every half hour and stir for two hours. Leave until completely frozen.
