A body language expert assessed the condition of cancer patient Kate Middleton during a public appearance
Princess Kate Middleton is returning to her royal role and responsibilities amid a 6-month battle with cancer and health issues since early 2024. She attended the Remembrance Sunday service with other members of the royal family, and this outing came a day after she attended the Remembrance Festival on Saturday. Such "frequent" public appearances are unusual for a princess with cancer, as she has only appeared in public once a month since the summer.
According to Judy James, a body language expert, Kate Middleton is back in her "royal form," according to the Daily Mail. Over the weekend, the princess made her biggest public commitment since announcing her fight against cancer. However, she was "somber, but unfazed at the same time."
"Kate's body language and even her hairstyle today showed a return to what looked like full royal form. Her expression turned somber as we heard the chimes of Big Ben, and there was a more restrained version of her clearly emotional cues we had seen at the concert the night before. Then she looked tearful, but here her sadness was met with a fierce royal look of calm reflection," the expert explained.
Middleton's resilience and confidence are also evidenced by her image – a military-style jacket with epaulets, a velor bow, and a dramatic headdress. According to Judy James, this also indicates that the princess has returned to her "royal" style of dress, which has gained a large number of fans around the world.
"Even her fascinator (headdress – ed.) and the way she wore her hair looked like a repeat of one of her most iconic royal moments when she was photographed in a car wearing a medical mask at Philip's funeral. She looked extremely elegant and regal, and she looked like a future queen," James added.
At the service on Remembrance Sunday, Princess Kate stood on the balcony next to the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, with whom she periodically exchanged words. As the expert explains, Middleton took center stage at the ceremony, being in full view of the public. This was also facilitated by the absence of Queen Camilla, who missed the event due to a chest infection.
Duchess Sophie was a support for the princess. She encouraged Kate Middleton and was her emotional comfort. This is also indicated by the eloquent gesture when Sophie held the princess's back.
"Sophie is known for her calming presence, especially during emotionally charged royal events. Her simple gesture of putting her hand on Kate's back symbolized solidarity and affection," explained the body language expert.
