What can ruin dumplings: three main mistakes that are often made
Housewives believe that properly prepared dough is the key to tasty and successful dumplings. But this is only partially true because some other factors affect the taste of the dish.
The FoodOboz editorial team has gathered information for you and will tell you what affects the taste of dumplings and how not to spoil them.
Dough
If you make the dough by eye, don't be surprised when the result is not very pleasing. When making the base, the most important thing is to observe the proportions. The approximate ratio of water to flour is 1:3. Be sure to salt the dough and add 1 egg.
Rolling out the dough
After you prepare the dough, it is advised to leave it to rest for at least 1 hour in a cold place. This increases the amount of gluten, making the dumplings much easier to mold, and they won't fall apart during cooking.
Filling
A lot of juicy and meaty filling is, of course, good, but not always. Stuffing in dumplings needs freedom, otherwise the dish will stick together in the first minutes of cooking.
