Shakshouka for breakfast in 15 minutes: when scrambled eggs and omelets are boring
Shakshouka is a hearty dish based on poached eggs with tomato paste or tomatoes, bell peppers and spices. It's perfect for breakfast if you're tired of the usual scrambled eggs.
Food blogger Oksana Dorosh(oksana_dorosh_rezeptu) on her Instagram page shared a recipe for hearty egg shakshouka.
Ingredients:
- eggs - 2 pcs.
- onions - 1 pc
- tomatoes - 2 pcs
- sweet bell pepper - 1 pc
- ground pepper mix
- salt
- greens
Method of preparation:
1. Cut peppers into julienne strips, dice tomatoes, chop onions. Roast the vegetables until soft. During cooking, salt the vegetables, add a pinch of sugar and a mixture of ground peppers.
2. After the vegetables, you need to make small holes inside with a spoon, break the eggs in it. Salt and sprinkle with pepper. Cook on low heat for about 5 minutes.
3. Sprinkle the finished shakshouka with greens and serve.
