Purchased bread can never be compared to the one made at home. The pastries are very flavorful, fluffy and soft. To make a crispy crust on top, you need to make the dough with honey.

The idea of making homemade puffy honey bread with a crust was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yulia (julia_vilich_food_blog).

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 260 ml of warm water
  • 18 g of fresh yeast
  • 25 g of natural honey
  • 40 g of odorless vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 450 g of flour

Method of preparation:

1. Add honey to water. Stir until it is completely dissolved.

2. Add yeast and mix again. If you are sure of the quality of the yeast, immediately add sifted flour.

3. Knead the dough with a spoon, and then continue kneading by hand.

4. From time to time, grease your hands a little with vegetable oil.

5. As a result, the dough hardly sticks to your hands.

6. Put the dough into a container greased with vegetable oil. Grease the top as well.

7. Cover with a towel and put in a warm place for 40 minutes.

8. Next, put the dough on a lightly floured work surface, roll out, roll the edges to the middle and pinch.

9. Put the future bread on a lightly oiled baking sheet covered with parchment.

10. Cover with the bowl in which you kneaded the dough (sprinkle the bowl with flour).

11. Wait another 20 minutes.

12. Remove the bowl and, if desired, lightly moisten the surface of the dough with water.

13. Apply the stencil and sprinkle with flour according to the pattern. Remove the stencil.

14. You can make cuts at the top. Thus, the bread won't crack at the bottom, but it won't be as tall.

15. Bake at 210 degrees for 25-30 minutes. If the top is too brown, cover with foil after 20 minutes of baking.
